Documentary filmmaker, writer, occasionally notable for Metro advocacy. Enjoys heist movies. Would probably enjoy heists.

Man, we have the same conversations every time a major story like this breaks. It’s exhausting. It is SO HARD to publish a story about gendered violence for a whole host of reasons, a main one being that victims (rightly so!) don’t want to talk.

If Los Angeles City Attorney Hydee Feldstein-Soto was written as a character in a courtroom TV drama, nobody would believe it.

With a backstory like this, the writers 100% would have to give her a story arc about a bonkers data leak.

Unfortunately it’s all real.

Let me reiterate: If you successfully convince women that you have the power to destroy them *before* you abuse them, you can do this stuff for decades without anyone willing to go on the record, even after reporters learn about it and dig. Without a victim willing to speak, reporters have no story.

transfers from ESFV will come at the metrolink stn once its built after the IOS? Building it off-street would be pricier, but could be better. They're to report back on it within 9 months.

But even though the platform itself probably still needs to be sited south of ESFV, there's probably an opportunity to have an underground pedestrian passage with a stair/elevator that exits onto the ESFV platform without hitting the storm drain (i made a diagram of this a bit ago but can't dig it

They acknowledge the challenge that the designs are locked for the new G Line station (under construction) and the ESFV station (in preconstruction - they're already putting piles around the storm drain directly under the station, which would have been the ideal place to site Sepulveda's station

In this month's planning committee agenda, there's a good motion directing the planners to design the Sepulveda G Line station to high standards as a transfer station. (alt 6, the only alt that previously had a design for this station, had a horrible transfer here).

Seeing shit like what we've just collectively watched and experienced for the last 9 days and truly, honestly, believing that humanity can do so, so much better. Hell, man, we just sent four people to the moon. THE MOON. We are capable of taking care of each other and rooting out the worst of us

This reporting is extremely thorough and the allegations are horrific. Swalwell’s attorney is trying to undermine this woman’s credibility by saying she kept working for him afterward. It’s tired victim-blaming rhetoric. She was 21 when it started. I believe her and I hope she is okay.

After reading the full people mover grand jury report, I have drawn two conclusions. 1. It should be illegal for aspiring screenwriters to write a grand jury report, and 2. The contractors need to be fired into the fucking sun

just so we're all super clear on what the threat was, what france actually did was send goons to break into the pope's house and beat him to death and then replaced him with a series of popes they liked better, who lived basically in captivity in france

Second HLA Lawsuit filed asking a court to rule that:

1. Large Asphalt Repair not HLA exempt
2. Slurry Seal not HLA exempt
3. Community Plan updates don’t override HLA

LA needs to stop trying to find loopholes & implement the will of the voters!
