Things that work: giant rocket, very precise math, orbital mechanics, cameras, iPhones

I was wondering if someone could just call in the iPhone. No surprise with Microsoft. Sigh

I was wondering about their phones but assuming they are too far from cell towers. But iPhones do have the emergency sat phone option now…

That was a cinematic reentry. Absolutely amazing.

I've been in tears at every milestone.

“It’s become clear to this administration that NASA has been shirking their duty to provide robust communications and life support functions on their manned missions. I am herby REVOKING 25% more funding until they GET THEIR ACT together. Thank you for your attention on this matter”

If your toilet doesn't work, you need a better plumber.

There really ought to be a geological feature on some planet or moon named after Nutella. Not sure about the IAU rules regarding brand names. 🤔

There was a legitimate Nutella vs maple syrup discussion during the mission and I loved it.

Intentfully or not, this crew showed us why PEOPLE need to go to space.

The humanized science.

And they deserve so so much credit just for being themselves up there.

Loved this entire mission.

I'm actually still amazed sometimes that the faucet works even when the power is out

isn't is that they tried sat phones bcz radio didn't work or the other way around?

They had diferent purposes. The radio was to talk directly to the recovery team, while sat phone was to stay in contact with Houston after the power to the ship's coms system was shut off.

I think they had both and neither were working both ways

We’ve all spent six years telling people they are muted in zoom, so this is all very relatable.

Things that work: the water cycle, the soil cycle, the atmospheric cycle

Things that don't work: Homo sapiens getting so disconnected from the natural world that they don't know how to integrate with their ecosystem.

That tracks with my one experience with sat phones. And most experienced with Outlook.

I can’t count how many times people made fun if me allocating a pound for a handheld VHF / UHF radio to crew equipment for recovery on manned mission proposals.
