I think it's true that public sector unions with inefficient work rules obtained by capture of electeds is indeed sometimes an obstacle to efficient provision of public services, but also if you had me rank the top 50 obstacles to efficient provision of public services that wouldn't make the list.

I know it's late, but I need you all to realize that as soon as we started paying attention to these races, Moms for Liberty & their ilk, started losing. They exploited a window of apathy & did a lot of damage, but they just cannot win when actually opposed. No unopposed elections anywhere.

Very much. I don’t think we get here without PUAs and Moldbug spamming every forum and newsgroup in the 90s & 00s, becoming MRAs in the latter 00s, then into the chans, GGate, incels, and Proud Boys. Each place/group upped the radicalization, heated the rhetoric, and rewarded it.
