Our friends at Firestorm are struggling in the face of disaster capitalism. A queer- and worker-owned bookstore that has, over and over, been there for the community.

They let me set up a referral page with them. Books from my podcasts, my books, and books I love

I'm excited about Molly Crabapple's book. Listening to her interview reminded me of The Partisans of Vilna.

Hey sorry for the confusion. There are multiple places to put codes and we think you might be putting the referral code in the promo code field. The referral code field is on the final page of checkout, but will likely autofill if you visited the link Margaret shared above!

this connects to api in a way most people miss. Three vendors shipped competing solutions this month is the part worth digging into

Do you have recommendations for into books on anarchist political theory? I am very interested (and a long time fan of your work along with ICHH), but the prospect of breaking into the actual theory has always been intimidating

The Conquest of Bread was foundational for me. Mutual Aid: A Factor of Evolution is good if you can handle something more dense and scientific.

tbh I read less political theory than i read history. I remember enjoying Alex Pritchard's Anarchism: A Very Short Introduction

While looking at the other books they sell I saw a bunch of the ones you recommended were near the top of the Popular tab.

So I think quite a few people have already taken you up on this

Thank you so much Margaret! I live in Asheville, love Firestorm and very much appreciate you boosting this to help them out. The book club they did there on A Paradise Built in Hell was so important to me in processing my grief from Helene, and they did so much to help the community during that time

Thank you letting us know about Firestorm’s struggles. I’ve made a list from your suggestions and sending my husband off with a list of books to buy. 📚 ❤️

When I went down to cover Hurricane Helene response, just after the storm, Firestorm had thrown its doors open and people were filling up water, fixing generators, building composting toilets, everything. Proving that anarchy works, that we keep us safe. All the best cliches, Firestorm proves true.

I wrote at least one book (The Barrow Will Send What It May) sitting on the couch at Firestorm Books, and they've been one of the centers of queer Appalachian organizing for what, fifteen years or something now?
