Pete Hegseth believes that Jesus guides Tomahawk missiles, even when they hit elementary schools.

I wrote about the roots of his militant faith - from the Crusades to the confederacy - and what they mean for the US and Iran today.

WATCHES IN SPACE 🧵

Ever notice how all of the astronauts are wearing a billion watches in every picture? Christina Koch is wearing three in this picture

Humanity first, not country first

"A sustainable international order cannot be built on the country-first principle alone. It must begin with a different commitment: a humanity-first approach, placing the protection of human life at the centre of decision making"

i firmly believe that kennedy wants preventable diseases to rip through american communities since, in his warped mind, those who survive without vaccines will have proven themselves “healthy.”

“Oh but Republicans would…”

Lemme stop you right there. I know that Republicans are okay voting for men accused of sexual assault. Republicans are also okay with voting for racists, child rapists, genocidal maniacs, and whatever the fuck pathology is a “Ted Cruz.”

So miss me with that argument.

Talking to my spouse this morning about an older woman I know and I mentioned that she had a mild case of polio as a child. And he said, "I didn't know people could have mild polio."

This is exactly why they should never give me a 24 hour feed of anyone or anything, now I've pack-bonded with four middle-aged astronauts.

Every single one of the astronauts who went to the moon and back on Artemis II was educated at a public school.

Thinking of the teachers who poured into Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen tonight. You helped send a kid to the moon!

This is extremely upsetting and it is possible in part because of the mainstream merchants of doubt who undermined science and scientists during the pandemic.

Imagine trusting science to bring astronauts to the moon and back but not trusting science to develop safe vaccines.

men can’t understand what it’s like for women to see story after story after story of women being victims of sexual violence in a culture where it’s routine; what it’s like to live in a world that is fundamentally hostile to our existence. it’s a wonder we leave the fucking house, let alone thrive.

Humanity did that. Science did that. Publicly-funded research did that. Excellent universities did that. Diversity did that. International cooperation did that.

Artemis II is a perfect example of what we can do at our best.

Welcome home, Integrity crew!

For context, 1968:

the US was surprised by the Tet Offensive in a bloody Vietnam, TV news of body counts, MLK murdered by a racist, cities burned from coast to coast, and RFK - who might have made a difference - murdered.

And this: a breath of boldness, excellence and promise.

Vaccines for the most part are one (or two) and done (outside of annual flu and covid). You get a TDAP every ten years.

Unless someone gets lucky and makes a breakthrough vaccine (see: RSV), or gets a new disease (ahem Covid) vaccines for pharma companies are like oil changes for your mechanic

Well, Friend, NASA employs scientists.

HOWEVER…

The government of this country employs idiots…starting at the top.

The person responsible for that flight fought for the girl who adored Puck, of all people, on Real World/Road Rules!

They’re hiring gamers now!!

Let it be known that Katherine Johnson was the reason for the first astronauts in space.

And now Vanessa Wyche, head of the Johnson Space Center and NASA's highest ranking civil servant, is the responsible for the longest manned space flight in history
