Yes, "homosexuality acts" were only decriminalised in Ireland in 1993, and you can still find homophobic articles in the media in Ireland and the UK well into the 00s and 10s. It just wasn't as regular and relentless as the 1980s, but they did everything they could to stop 2015's marriage equality.
