“Men who have no art at all, nothing but wealth— they pit us one against the other, for their gain not ours. We sell ‘em our power. Why do we?
If we went our own way together, we’d do better, maybe.”

About time.

We respect privacy here.

We’ve also left little notes & gifts around our part of the neighborhood, especially after Mi Madre moved in (crochet coasters like this one), bc Neighbors Knowing Each Other’s Names is important courtesy and memory-keeping shit I grew up with.

While I was out on the deck w/ my mom’s dog earlier, Chica started barking at a little dog walking uncertainly down our street

Saw a neighbor running around barefoot. I called out to her which way to go. Good to see her walking back holding her dog.

I asked & learnt her name AND her dog’s name.

1000 stories to be honest. People are in motion everywhere. Folks in Minneapolis continue to hold each other thru this moment - every day I see comrades raising thousands to keep neighbors houses.

A friend adopted a class at her local elementary school & throws monthly parties for kids, no fanfare.

You guys hear how Affinity is free and is basically just Photoshop and Illustrator and InDesign rolled into one. Pretty interesting

I've been saying this! You don't even need scientific papers, only a couple well-placed posts online and two hours to make AIs spit it out uncritically

I don't remember seeing an image of Earth before that captures the (thin, fragile, tiny layer of) atmosphere so clearly. I mean, look at that.

Physical reminders of Not Being Alone (as well as proof of memory) are useful.

i KEEP trying to push for way more americans to learn about this

especially americans who (maybe unwittingly?) use the racism lens WE have here, which is rooted *specifically in antiblack slavery & jim crow* to try and view everybody in the world🤦🏾

The Panic of 1837 was a MAJOR DEPRESSION, which no one ever really hears about... heh, heh. It lasted up and through the 40s, in case anyone wondered why people refused to stop owning people without a war. 😇

Ahhhhh, a favorite of mine, for it's where you first encounter a "radical" faction of Democrats, the Locofocos.

Baltimore Bank Riot, a response by citizens to losing millions of dollars in savings through alleged fraud and theft by bank personnel. Ran down on the Wealthies homes, police just couldn't contain it!! 🫠

As I said many common many times over the past 25 years: the social media platform that grows, is the social media platform where young Black women feel safe to create.

Attempting to understand social media trends without understanding the lense of US racism deeply, leads to incomplete analysis.

Tiny note: Onesimus is the name Mather gave him. We don't know his actual name. The name is from the Bible and it means, " useful" Biblical Onesimus was enslaved too
