You guys hear how Affinity is free and is basically just Photoshop and Illustrator and InDesign rolled into one. Pretty interesting

Also the linux port is (supposedly) decently stable.

Been meaning to test it out (especially now that some time has passed since the new affinity, it's a good time for me to check for sure.)

I loved affinity and was wary after it was purchased and made free, glad to see its still pretty well regarded

Adobe needs to see their customer base dry up and blow away like a tumbleweed in the wind. It’s been a looooong time coming.

Serious competition in this space can only be good for artists too. Even those sticking with photoshop

I switched from Photoshop to Procreate about 4-ish years ago, then to CSP last year. Best decision I ever made. I'd used Adobe software since the late 90's and I will NEVER pay for their products again.

Became an Affinity user in the last few months and wow. Aside from some bugs on the Mac version, it’s just such a better experience, and so much of the Adobe-esque functions work the exact same way, so transitioning has been a breeze! Love the ways it does away with annoying Adobe quirks too.

Yeah, if I wasn't working commercially I would think about it. As is everyone else expects/needs Adobe, so Adobe it is.

I had no idea Affinity is free now!

It was a few months ago.

Their current marketing strategy is “the software itself is free but you can pay to unlock AI features”, which is… fine, since a lot of users just were never interested in the AI features anyway.

Pretty sure they did it just to mess with Adobe's bottom line, which is honestly a great move
