how do you write this story without noting there was a campaign literally called SUBSTACKERS AGAINST NAZIS in…2023

Respectfully, Substack hosts a few Nazis with a few thousand subscribers each (3000 in The Guardian examples), and many anti-fascists with millions of subscribers, like historian Heather Cox Richardson’s “Letters from an American." There are good reasons to hate Substack; this isn’t one of them.

Nazi joins your table at the bar & you don't kick him out, congratulations, it's a Nazi bar now. If you don't understand that, perhaps some remedial history before you continue saying asinine things on the internet at your big age.

Respectfully, other platforms with a reasonable Code of Conduct (e.g. Ghost) host zero Nazis.

I mean you should be cited. But Katz should REALLY be cited for breaking this story.

I have gotten rabid pushback from some progressives when I suggest leaving substack. I am all for repeating this.

handy dandy labeler that shows when someone’s newsletter is hosted by Substack: bsky.app/profile/labeler.antisubstack.fyi

I'm curious: has there been any reporting about whether or not big names paid to use Substack have agreed to contract language prohibiting them from openly criticizing or talking about Substack's Nazi problem?

I have looked for better platforms and have resisted substack but they do have the superior products at the moment. What are some good alternatives?

I moved @drownedinsound.org to @ghost.org back in 2023. It’s been surprising how many people continue to use the platform bsky.app/profile/drownedinsound.bsky.social/post/3mebwebjcx22u

Hi.

What are the most ethical newsletter hosters?

Which one do you prefer?

Ghost.io is a B Corp and a better choice than Substack for non-profits. The social networking side of it isn’t as well developed as Substack, but some may say that’s an advantage!

I guess doing that would make the whole "Exclusive" thing look kinda silly.

An awful lot of people don’t seem to have noticed. 😒

I see a lot of people who should be well-informed (::cough:: recently laid off journalists ::cough::) running off to set up on Substack, when there are plenty of other options. 😒

This piece is for them. 👀

I want to reply with this to every single person posting their Substack articles… but that would be a full-time job. Unbelievable how many well-respected writers continue to post there after all the red flags.

Amerika's 3 branches of government are pedophiles, oligarchs and Nazis; When false narratives are used to assassinate character, law and order is used to block access to truth and justice becomes a weapon for the purpose of destroying political enemies.

2023 was when it was vealed. Now they’re REvealing it. So.

Isn't "vealed" the Olive Garden name for adding veal to an entree?

I remember feeling like I’m on crazy pills at work when there was a serious discussion about keeping our x account for clicks when we’re a anti-racist pub 🙃

I get how we all need to hustle hard rn but it shouldn’t include being part of a platform that gets Nazis paid so they can afford to do evil
