Was at an event at Yale tonight, and had to peek at my phone at one point to be sure that Artemis made it home safely.

They stole our hearts.

Plus—it’s so joyous to be proud of something.

1/ This is in direct violation of how our government buildings and monuments were designed.

The founding folk wanted a distinctly NON-MONARCHICAL style of architecture and design, to prove to all who could see that the U.S. was a democratic republic, NOT a monarchy.

Right now, the conversation isn’t about nuclear programs, or free and fair elections in Iran. It's about reopening a body of water that was open before this war started. Chalk that up as a win for Tehran.

Newsflash: we can’t prevent forest fires without the essential employees that make the research into them happen.

2/ “Plain” style furniture in government buildings. Unadorned classical columns. Un-frilly clothing. Portraits that were NOT bigger than life sized.

They were making a political point.

So is Mad King DJT.

This is a jaw dropper read on trump/iran/melania. @hcrichardson.bsky.social’s methodical review is a must read. That last sentence is a banger:
“…it is hard to miss that hours after his wife gave an unexpected press conference about Jeffrey Epstein, Trump posted a video of a woman’s murder.”’

This is quite the read. Almost everyone in Trump's inner circle, including Gen. Dan Caine, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, advised Trump against launching a war on Iran. He did it anyway.

I'd really like to see leadership calling for impeachment and removal, regardless of whether they have the votes to get it done. Same way we called for marriage equality before we had the votes. A leader's job is to lead. If a genocidal threat isn't impeachable, then nothing is.

They shot him six times. One bullet his jaw.

Now he can't speak and has been mostly unconscious.

To sort of paraphrase
Dr. Joanne Freeman,
the Trump regime is dragging us down a path covered with broken glass on a daily basis, and you just don’t do this to your citizenry.

I’ve had it with this 🤡.

Remove Trump.
Vote House blue.
Fight the regime.
Prevent a recurrence.
Demand accountability.

The Presidential Records Act isn’t complicated. It was passed after Watergate for a reason & it’s very clear about what belongs to the public & what doesn’t.

That’s what makes the new position DOJ is taking so disturbing. I explain here: joycevance.substack.com/p/killing-history
