I think a lot of y’all don’t understand that standards are different for assault reporting because it’s trauma reporting. Generally hold to “do no harm” — whether we’re talking state politics or world leader. This is the industry standard in most media orgs; it only works if we get consent.

Folks would be surprised to learn that often I hear accounts from witnesses *first*, and it’s the victim herself who isn’t willing to come forward because it’s a very, very painful process. That may persist for YEARS of leads.

Again: Reporters have no story until we get consent to tell one.

Let me reiterate: If you successfully convince women that you have the power to destroy them *before* you abuse them, you can do this stuff for decades without anyone willing to go on the record, even after reporters learn about it and dig. Without a victim willing to speak, reporters have no story.

People make fun of government agencies for still being on Flickr but photos produced by the government are copyright-free and I have yet to see a better photo-centric platform for delivering higher resolution photos that anyone can easily download.

I cannot stress this enough: Vegas gave Musk millions to build us a supposed public transportation system. Instead he built basically an Uber tunnel for Teslas that only goes FROM ONE END OF A CONVENTION CENTER TO THE OTHER. Literally just gets you to the other side of a building.
