NGL, they are extremely cool.

I know that a lot of you hate them, but they drive around my neighborhood and never cause any problems and even after seeing them 100 times, they are still very, very cool.

How is a driver, driving a car for a fare, a ‘rideshare’? It’s a taxi. Fancy app and all, but a taxi regardless. The whole ‘rideshare’ thing was a scam from the start.

That slogan sounds like it came from someone in the back who was completely over that meeting, threw it out for a laugh and it completely landed.

My favorite part of the job is little kids being excited to wave at me. I feel like the female version of Mr. McFeely.

In the '90s, Metra had one of my all-time favorite radio ads called "Interview with a Masochist"--because who else would want to drive the expressways at rush hour?

There was a joke I was surprised they got away with. He loves the diesel fumes and car exhaust because "it smells like shi....cago!"

You are on social media, where most of us feel a bit more comfortable letting our atypical neurology communicate. And do you know what people on the spectrum love.

Trains.

Other things too, but trains are fuckin rad.

As parents, when you stop at a level crossing, and the barriers come down and the train eventually flys past, its like a free visit to the circus for any under 5s in the back seat.

My son was so thrilled to ride buses when he was a preschooler!

Indeed. That said, why are we still referring to Lyft and Uber as "ridesharing?" You're not sharing a ride with the driver, ferchrissakes. LOL You're paying him or her to drive you somewhere. There's no fundamental distinction between Lyft/Uber and taxis. "Ridesharing" just sounds ridiculous.

I’m sure it’s a holdover to when they were first introduced and you shared the ride with others. That was a weird time, being in a car full of strangers.

I was just thinking of my recent hair raising experience and how ride shares incentivize aggressive driving.

They try to get finished as quickly as possible to get to the next fare and it creates problems for everyone on the road.

When i was a little kid I would insist to my mom that we walk down the platform to get on the 1st car of the subway, so that I could look out the front window. My mom was OK with that because I'd be up on my knees transfixed by the spectacle and not fidgety and restless. It was like a drug.

Public transport is what we should invest in, America needs infrastructure not an insane international war

That's why your tweet is so perfect

This is a good sign because rideshare isn't "great"

City-scale mass transit is

Partly this is because little kids aren’t allowed in taxis/rideshare in most of the US. Other countries let you take a taxi carrying the kid in your arms from the airport which makes it much more practical to not hire a car.

My 2 yr old daughter doesn't point out taxis or ubers. She's been in plenty (in Australia). They just aren't very interesting.

Btw your point is still valid that that's a pretty absurd rule.

There are no infant car seats on a bus, but they can still ride them!

Even worse, almost no adult who warns about environmental destruction or low-quality transit systems or economic inequity or deteriorating public health or habitat loss or mindless wars points out that our government is massively subsidizing/requiring our widespread use of private motor vehicles.

Banger ad but my five year old daughter does actually excitedly point at WayMo’s, lol. (We have never been in one but grant that “robot cars” are cool. She also gives Cybertrucks thumbs down whenever she sees them so we are doing *something* right.)
