Hey gang, I'm putting together a TTRPG design workshop for people in my local RPG club.

What are some free games and SRDs you love and think make for great inspiration for creating someone's first game? Bonus points if they're available in Spanish but no worries if not.

Both Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu and My Master Has No Tail were made with a shoestring budget compard to this and they both used elegant framing, deliberate (and sometimes quite dramatic) compositions and careful sound mixing to convey a rakugo performance being enthralling and excellent.

Oh man this Akane Banashi adaptation is Not Good. I know it's a Shonen Jump manga, I know it's structured like a battle shonen but it really is doing way too much during the rakugo scenes. Huge flashy color backgrounds with movement lines swishing do not convey rakugo at all. Jingling keys shit.

The Spanish loc has it as "Qué ingenua eres" (you're so naive, or more literally, "how naive you are") which is obviously not a literal translation of 「あっまちゃ〜ん！」but is much closer in meaning and much more coherent with Yuzuriha's overall demeanor and personality.

Main inspiration is "Little Witch Academia" and others include "The Owl House" & "Kiki’s Delivery Service." The premise is you're a witch at witch school learning how to be a grown-up witch.

I am using charcoal for everything on account of it means you only get to use light & darkness to describe the forms (no line work) so everything gets this dreamy indistinctness, and a dark border around the text so it's like the book is disappearing around the edges

Surprised to see how common the mech pilot as fully subordinate dehumanized dog-creature to the dominant handler has become as a dynamic in fanart/fanfic since there's really not that many mech things that make that explicit. It's AC6, Daemon x Machina and I guess Eighty-Six is 50% of the way there?
