The Congressional Investigative Service (CIS) has many of the powers of the Justice department, without answering to the president at all. For example, they can act as prosecutors and bring criminal charges in cases where the Justice Department might be compromised.

We have the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), which can investigate that the money allocated by Congress is used correctly, and is answerable only to Congress. I propose a few small changes that I think might help.

Clearly, over the last century, the executive branch has gained a lot of power at the expense of Congress. Part of the problem is that the federal government is so huge, it is hard for 535 members to oversee everything with their small staffs.

#space #physics question. If I have a well-insulated space station that's powered by a large 1-square-unit solar panel, how big does my radiator need to be to keep the temperature inside the station constant?

I notice that the main radiators on the ISS are a fraction of the size of the PV panels.

I just had my mind blown by comment in a #StarWars forum. If Luke & Obiwan had stopped to analyze the DS plans, they could have planted bombs near the reactor. No need for the battle of Yavin. Obiwan had no problem sneaking around as long as he avoided getting near Vader.
