Yeah, the fact that Trump and Iran offered very different visions of what was agreed makes me wonder what the actual content of the agreement was.

But I doubt Pakistan will clarify, because I imagine 'we both get to lie about what we agreed' is part of the agreement.

The was also an incident during the Biden administration where a mediator nation (Egypt I think) changed a ceasefire proposal while transmitting it in an attempt to get both sides to agree to some sort of ceasefire.

That's an interesting suggesting, particularly given that Pakistan has a good reason to de-escalate.

I suppose the real question is if both sides want 'out' of the fight enough to declare victory and try to let this thing hold extending the status quo indefinitely into the future, or if one or both sides start shooting again.

The status quo sans bombing is pretty favorable to Iran?

Didn’t he just confirm it on Truth Social though? Like why post it if it’s a transmitting issue?

So you don’t think this is sloppiness or inexperience on the part of translators and diplomats, like what apparently got the whole war started?

Piecing together the nine different versions I've heard, it sounds like the US agreed to accept the 10-point Iranian peace plan "as a basis for negotiation", and Iran agreed to "reopen" the Strait for two weeks.

The former is worthless, the value of the latter depends on the Iranian definition.

If the Iranian definition of "reopening" the Strait includes continuing to charge tolls and continuing to require traffic to coordinate permission to travel through the IRGC, Iran is winning the war.
