“'I’ve never experienced anything like this in my entire life,' the congresswoman said, fighting back tears.

"She described the way people were laying down inside as “like sardines.”

“'It is frightening in there,' she said. 'It is disgusting'..."

Also: I don’t think a lot of elite Dems are planning on deflecting hypocrisy charges much when this happens. They are taking it as a given that he’s gonna do blanket federal pardons. They also know that in that case, local and state prosecutions of trump officials et al. are an uphill climb…

when we reported this in December, sources told us that when, not if, trump does it, they will use “Biden did it” profusely zeteo.com/p/trump-is-already-discussing-preemptive

Now, trump was obviously gonna do it anyway, no matter what Biden did. Trump seriously considered blanket preemptive pardons at very end of term1, so

House Dem leadership says Swalwell needs to end his campaign for governor. Stops short of calling on him to resign from the House.

You may say I’m making a painfully obvious joke but there are still tons of commentators and policymakers who argue that the violent crime or murder surges across the nation caused by Covid weren’t actually caused by Covid

How much do you wanna bet that some intern at the meeting immediately logged into Polymarket and started typing, "White House warns staff against betting..."

From the AP:

"At one of Beirut’s busiest intersections, an Associated Press photographer saw charred cars piled on top of each other. A body was crushed inside one."

"At hospitals, staff were still trying to identify dozens of bodies."

The Trump administration views DACA recipients as deportable as any undocumented immigrant. For my latest, I talked to immigrants without permanent legal status who entered the country as children and spent months in ICE detention.

I talked to numerous people in Newtown. They were surprised to hear Trump condemn Alex Jones for his Sandy Hook denial, because they expressly asked Trump to disavow this in 2017 during his first term and he refused.

I've got quotes from them and the backstory here:

“We were hoping the president-elect would denounce Alex Jones for the damage he caused to families who did lose somebody and other families impacted by the tragedy. He never did. We were disappointed in the lack of response.”

…both literally and figuratively. That is what made the height of operation metro surge and other operations since Jan 2025 so uniquely disturbing: the trump White House was intentionally forgetting that their secret police force were supposed to be, well, secret.

A reminder— for most of the trump-vance era: vast majority of stuff you’ve read about or heard about re: the administration’s mass detention & mass deportation regime? The stuff that appalls you? Gotta keep in mind almost all of it you didn’t see live-streamed. The horrors go on behind closed doors…
