Also: I don’t think a lot of elite Dems are planning on deflecting hypocrisy charges much when this happens. They are taking it as a given that he’s gonna do blanket federal pardons. They also know that in that case, local and state prosecutions of trump officials et al. are an uphill climb…

Knowing Trump, he will probably hold off his pardons until the last second so as to keep everyone on his leash. Unfortunately for his subordinates, he will be 82; the way he scarves down junk food, he will likely croak anytime before that. We shall see. 🤞

Seems like blanket federal pardons make the country lawless. And if Trump does that, any following administration could enact revenge then pardon themselves. So Trump and republicans have to stay in power, for their own protection, forever, through any legal or illegal means possible, with pardons.

Listen you need a lobotomy to both sides this issue. If Kamala won, there’d be no need for Biden to protect people from the president personally directing the DOJ to prosecute political enemies with illegitimate lawsuits. Trump is using pardons to get away with limitless crimes

Well, I’m of the opinion that we should ignore his fucking pardons and prosecute his ass anyway, plus all of his fellow scumbag criminals.

Or, arrest him and send him to The Hague along with everyone else and have them do it. If we have to shitcan the constitution in order to do so, fine by me.

It does seem clear, that the pardon power needs to be tweaked

There must be a presidential crimes commission to bring to light all of the crimes of this administration. If they are pardon they can then be compelled to testify and the 5th no longer applies. The truth must be uncovered

There is really no hypocrisy. At all.

You can hate guns and have used one for defense. Stop making things that are in no way equal seem equal.

Have you not learned anything?

Don't agree that it would be hypocrisy for Dems to criticize this. The idea of a ringleader in a crime, pardoning those who committed the crimes for him is quite different.

Also, there is a legal argument that someone who is a co-conspirator in a crime is not permitted to pardon his minions.
