Sadly I'm witnessing yet again too many fellow progressives ready to let democracy die so they can stick to their political purity tests. You can't make any progress unless you have officials offering us the best chance at negotiating that progress. Pragmatism is far too rare.

Tip for Dem candidates: stop trying, as many prominent Dems have, to offer audiences the “right” answers, the ones you think they want to hear or ones consultants have tested, and start speaking from the heart, from what you really feel. It is what the moment requires. You can’t fake authenticity.
