Universal Geneve has relaunched after 30+ years and I’m going to rank some of their new signature pieces.

1. The Cabriolet. Beautiful. Only downside is it reminds me of the Gatsby revival era.
2. The Compax. Cool as hell, love a textile-inspired dial.
3. The Polerouter. Nice but boring, I’m bored.

This nearly went the other way. But O'Connor retired, Bush appointed Alito, and it was re-argued. Cops have been ignoring the knock and announce rule ever since.

It's also the case in which Scalia argued that the Exclusionary Rule is no longer necessary because cops are so professional these days.

This week’s episode is Hudson v. Michigan, where the Court held that cops can violate the Constitution as long as they obey it in a parallel universe.

you can say what you want about Snyder’s work, this is a 17 post thread about Trump’s motivations that doesn’t mention Israel once.

there's a genre of take that boils down to "the reason trump is providing for his actions doesn't make sense, so there must be another secret reason that DOES make sense." it is always wrong.

bluesky got sports so it makes sense that we’d also get some “it’s time for some game theory” lunatics

There's this myth that non-voters are just as aware of and engaged with current events as voters are and that they just haven't found the candidate that inspires them and no, that's not true at all, it's usually that they don't know anything about politics at all, which is the entire challenge.

it’s true that overall likes are way down on bluesky over the past year. however, if you look closely at the data, that’s mostly an anomaly resulting from the fact that your posts specifically have gotten worse and are dragging the vibe down.

Can you imagine how many people approved it before publishing?

Shameful.

all of the lessons of the Trump era are the type you’d learn from a children’s book. you tried to use bullying to get what you want, but you alienated your allies, oh no! you have learned the power of friendship.

I wrote about how the Hasan Piker drama serves as a proxy fight between centrists and the left, and how it exposes the real priorities of Democrats like Cory Booker.

can't stop thinking about 17 hours a day. replacing one of those hours with literally any non-screen activity would be beneficial. do some shoplifting. take up vandalism. throw rocks at cars from your window.
