Refugee from the Dead Bird, giving this a go

Hungary Like the Wolf

It's election day in Budapest and JD's saying a prayer for wild boy Orban, while Don fights the release of Epstein's girls on film. In an ordinary world, polls would spell doom for this union of snakes, but one Rio journalist predicts cherry ice cream smiles.

The only reason Lebanon has a Christian president is because under the 1932 census, Christians were the majority and were awarded the presidency.

There hasn't been an official census since. It's also debatable if the 1932 census, overseen by French authorities, was accurate; it likely wasn't.

The American right including FoxNews and Trump himself has spent years publicly idolizing an almost random post-Soviet kleptocracy with a GDP less than half the size of Minnesota and tomorrow it's likely to go down in flames.

Geopolitical equivalent of seeing their NFT apes get stolen.

Contrary to public perception a huge % of pregnant teenagers in the 1990s were impregnated by adult men. The younger they were, the larger the average age gap between mother and father was. Fixing teen pregnancy was in part a clampdown on statutory rape. That's what conservatives want to reverse.

Whaddya know?
Head of 🇮🇪 Fuel Protests has a similar behavioral profile as pardoned January 6th rioters.

Animal abuse, violence against women, child porn, tax evasion…

Could it be international forces behind far right chaos are targeting a certain psychological profile as recruits?

"To put it bluntly, an X post today receives less than 3% of the views a single tweet delivered seven years ago."
If you think it is necessary to be on Twitter to communicate your fact-based worldview, the reality is that worldview is being smothered.

Fascinating, Zelensky coming out publicly more and more and saying that Trump is working with/for Putin. The Ukrainians seem to have determined that telling the truth is preferable to lying to please Trump.

I'm one of the more pro-Israel people on BlueSky and I'd say I view Israel unfavorably. Bibi has catastrophically damaged Israel's standing and it will take a minimum of a generation to repair it, and that's assuming Israel quickly accepts a two-state solution and starts acting like a modern nation.

The fact is, the Vatican has been super quiet about probably because the Catholic Church has been around long enough to make America look like a toddler. They think in years and decades, they will fuck every official in this admin over long after they forgot the conversation took place.

The people who can survive the snake pit of Vatican politics long enough to rise to the top tend to be pretty sharp; Leo was effectively Francis’s internal hatchet-man before election. Only way this ends for the crew of dipshits picking fights with them is humiliation on increasingly grand stages.

All of that was just to weaken Iran’s military capabilities for 5 to 10 years.

Trump has now effectively agreed to the arrangement mentioned in post 4 of this thread. From AP: "Iran and Oman will collect tolls from all ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz during a 2-week ceasefire."

Ah the typical American exceptionalism and suspremacism attitude being knocked on its ass by a Brit.

Americans always underestimate the resolve and performance of Brits, both as "forces" and "its population".

Thanks for the laugh, Alan.

Your reminder that even if the war truly ended tonight, and Iran let every tanker sail through the Strait tomorrow, oil does not teleport, wells have been shut down and will take weeks or months to reopen, storage facilities have been destroyed, and refining capacity has been significantly damaged.
