I must admit, we had been apart too long. Now she feels better and my fingers hurt in a familiar way. I've owned this guitar for 37 years, she plays so much better than new. : )

Here's a soon-to-depart friend we ran into at the park. This Kolea (Pacific golden plover) has his full tuxedo plumage on, all ready to fly up to the Arctic circle and find a mate! They're incredible #birds 🦉🌿📷

The plume was hitting strong southerly winds about 3,000 feet above ground level, transporting a narrow band of gas & tephra to the north-NE of Halemaʻumaʻu, according to #HVO.
Tephra fallout was strongest in the direction of Kilauea Military Camp and the Volcano Golf Course subdivision.

Laysan Albatross (mōlī) is a native seabird known to nest in coastal areas of Kauai, so I really wanted to see a baby on my recent #Hawaii #birding trip.

I thought I was prepared for the cuteness, but no... look at this adorable fluffy muppet baby!!!

Well this is unfortunate. An account calling itself "NASA | ESA Space Updates" (@nasaupdates.bsky.social), not apparently affiliated w/ either, has been posting NASA images without alt-text & blocked me when I said the images should include it. (NASA itself is usually pretty good on accessibility.)
