Ah, a classic sign someone has clearly lost the argument and knows it. A demand to meet up in person, internet tough guy style.

I might, were I to be especially generous, accept the notion that people were hoodwinked. Credulous media, the toxic ecosystem of social media, their moronic peers.

Sure.

However, to be so disastrously easy a mark is a dire moral failing of its own kind.

If I claim that atheism was founded by John Atheism in 1927, this is still a stupid mistake even if I am not an atheist.

What exactly is the point of the NYT if you don’t think they should report on stuff?

They didn’t bother to report what Trump actually said until everyone on social media complained. Which completely disproves his point; social media pressure does work sometimes to make the media do its job.

Arco, Idaho was kind of a dump.

It’s really bizarre seeing the media describe normal military stuff as β€œasymmetrical” and β€œinsurgency”.

Not beating any charges of fighting the last war.

Fun fact, the ”Idaho stop” is known to be much safer for cyclists, since it reduces their time in the intersection.

And that’s senior engineers. Ive seen new engineers fail to meet the bar using these things. Any benefit they might provide is at the top end of the experience curve, at the bottom end they do not help.

As someone who manages a team, Ngl, the advent of these tools really hasn’t moved the needle in my subjective opinion. People spend a lot more time personally reviewing and tweaking the output than they realize, and the context switching cost is high

It’s true that it’s in everything now, but it’s still really funny that nobody can actually prove it’s useful. They *feel* it’s useful, but we know for certain that some tools can objectively slow you down while making it feel like they’re not.

The lack of hard evidence remains interesting

It is really remarkable seeing someone try and play the antisemitism card when they’re caught talking out of both sides of their mouth.

Kinda weird to see the press fighting the previous war.

Uniformed military personnel using ranged fires are not an insurgency.
