Good thread on why hardcover, and DTM knows far more than me.

I will say that I very rarely buy print at all, and it's very rarely hardcover when I do, but I saw hard copies of my first ever hardback for the first time at yesterday's event and I really did nearly start crying.

Just wrote up my interview with Trần Nam who was 6 years old in 1968 and saw his entire family killed at My Lai. Only those who were 10 or older at the time of the massacre are formally considered as survivors, since younger children are not presumed to remember much. But he remembers everything.

There's a metal band called Glyph that kicked out their lead singer when they found out he was beating his now ex-wife. That same ex-wife is now the lead singer of Glyph. I think a lot of men could learn from their example.

Friend of mine got publicly harassed on a panel by a comics writer everyone knew was a creeper—to the extent that older female editors would carefully make sure no young women sat next to him in meetings.

When she wrote about her experience, even without naming the guy, she got death threats

Well it seems that now almost all the Brunch Bunch have stopped gaining weight (except for Pancake who has kept on trucking), so we’re pretty sure mama Mimosa’s milk is drying up already. Everyone has little fangs and premolars coming in so it’s time to start offering The Meats supplementation.

In "La Romance De Fauvel" a very bad horse named Fauvel becomes king. Everyone knows he's a bad king but lords and bishops flatter him and brush him and so "to curry Fauvel" became a term for false flattery. The English hadn't read the story but "Fauvel" sounds like "favour", so we curry favour.
