I vehemently disagree that ICE should even be allowed into Canada, ever, for any reason. Are they going to ask marginalized people for ID? Use face surveillance? Pass this info to Immigration Canada?

Last year while vetting a batch of porn bots for a moderation list, I came across 1 that looked 12. While vetting its followers, I saw all of the grown men following it; dads, pastors, activists and I got pissed. I decided to make another list just for them. Now bsky has deleted it. So here it is 🧡

A couple weeks ago, Nicholas Keung at the Toronto Star reported on how generative AI is being used to assess immigration applications in Canada...and how it's led to refusals because of stuff the AI tool added in, that humans (clearly) failed to check.

I've studied so many concentration camps through history that held vulnerable people in just this kind of crowded squalor. You demonize people, you demand more arrests, this is what you get. It already has its own budget and its own momentum, and is on track to go much further, unless we stop it.
