God the press release is somehow even worse than the actual bill

“Thanks to the brave work of tireless campaigners, we’re now jailing people for pornography based on vibes”

This, along with the "extreme porn"/bdsm thing, and the marginalising of trans and nb people, feels an AWFUL lot like they want no queer people in the UK.

Ah christ so this did go through then.

It's...just insane. Hope it excludes illustrations and writing for the furry community, but not as if that makes it any better. It's also very open to interpretation, and obviously leading to more restrictions.

Yeah, the law itself makes it sound like writing and furry porn wouldn’t count because it couldn’t be mistaken for real people, but I’m not a lawyer so I don’t know how open to interpretation that is

Like if I thought furry art might be traced from a real image, is that enough of a connection?

Why do they always need to add "and girls" when talking about protecting women? Girls are already women. Is it to put children in the forefront of readers' minds? Won't somebody please think of the children, et cetera.

It’s to make it EXTRA clear that they’re doing this to defend the poor helpless women, and not because they hate porn or trans people or whatever
