are rarely quoted and no one has clarified where they left from, where they were anchored (I tracked that on AIS) and where they were headed. They are using incorrect info on Google maps, compounding facts that don’t line up.

Anyway, bad choices were made and this lady is dead. He is culpable.

His quote is concerning, and made me suspect that he hurt her.

"Despite desperate attempts to reach her, the winds and currents drove us further apart. We continue to search for her and that is my sole focus."

"Further apart" means they already had distance between them, possibly emotional.

"We" rather than "I" continue to search is unexpected for a husband who has just lost his spouse. He's probably not doing much direct looking himself.

"That is my sole focus" rather than "this" is distancing language putting the search away from himself.
