I’m starting to make final cards for Dizzy Sheep Disaster: EX! Part of the process has been printing and testing full sheets of cards.

This is done by cutting them into numbered strips, then running them through the e-reader to test the dotcodes

I've been kinda following this for a while, this is awesome! Does the e-Reader have a limit for how long a barcode is, or could you make a 10 foot long barcode and load in a 12MB piece of software in one "swipe"?

I want to say the e-reader is limited to two sizes, basically the long and short sides of a playing card - but I've never explored how the dotcode reading works! It could be fun to experiment with

It's so crazy this is even a thing. Way back in what, 2004? The e-card reader seemed like a viable alternative to those Chinese flash carts, which were hella expensive at the time. There weren't a ton of options for playing NES games on the go, back in those days.

Eventually, the NES games were released on their own cartridges, which made sense in the case of especially large games, like Castlevania. The e-reader games were generally around 32K, and still required a good number of card swipes!
