An outdoorsy photoshoppy mole- likes National Trust scones & Dartmoor. A bookish mole in a hole seeking the return of integrity. Not sure this account adds much. Exceedingly good in parts. #AltText - no AI🚫

The shared excitement over NASA’s recent mission compared to the general indifference to SpaceX missions speaks to the power of something seen as the product of communal human effort rather than just the ego and avarice of one obnoxious dork.

Of all of the post-splashdown photos from the Artemis II mission, this is my favorite.

It captures the best of who we are, the best of who we can be.

The Arc de Triomphe in Paris was originally designed to celebrate the battle of Austerlitz at the centre of a celebration of all Bonaparte's big wins but it took so long to finish that by the time it was done Napoleon had ... died in exile ... and all those great battles had ultimately been undone

Fun fact: the last country to build a monumental arch was North Korea.

Kim Il Sung opened the truly ugly monstrosity in Pyongyang in 1982.

I love this photo of astronaut Christina Koch looking back at Earth from Artemis II.

She's the first woman to see the full sphere of our beautiful planet.

Welcome home to the crew, and thank you for reminding us of all we can discover together.

For anyone who has read about the Pentagon's use of the "Avignon Papacy" against the pope....THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE AVIGNON PAPACY. And the journalists reporting on it even less. I know about the Avignon papacy....and I am pissed that it is weaponized.

… if it wasn’t for the threat of AI stealing everyone’s job, I’m sure they could retrain for their next job in Cyber like the rest of us, and use ever improving rural broadband connectivity for remote working, like the rest of us, 𝘸π˜ͺ𝘡𝘩𝘰𝘢𝘡 𝘩𝘒𝘷π˜ͺ𝘯𝘨 𝘡𝘰 𝘬π˜ͺ𝘭𝘭 𝘒𝘯𝘺𝘡𝘩π˜ͺ𝘯𝘨. … and it’s not the horses, it’s the 𝘩𝘰𝘢𝘯π˜₯𝘴 that do the dirty. If meets were restricted to steeplechases with horses only, livery stables and associated country skills would just continue, like pony trekking in fancy dress. The only people out of a job would be the master of the hounds and kennels…

… one Boxing Day morning out walking I saw the sihouette of the local β€˜trail’ hunt at the top of a nearby moorland hill chasing what looked distinctly like a fox. It could have been a lone outlying hound ahead of the main pack, but it looked independent and more nimble…

My opinion has changed over time. I had no objection to trail hunts and maintaining traditional rural trades - just without the β€˜killing things’ bit. It turns out they β€˜accidentally’ kill things on the way anyway… (🧡)
