I haven't played a BF game (in anger anyway) in years, and while I am older and slower now, I'm amazed by how intact my muscle memory is.

BF6 is great.

Tip for my fellow sim racers: you'll likely need HidHide. github.com/nefarius/HidHide

BF6, like most recent BF games, just grabs on to every HID axis it can find and ORs them all together... which results in your soldier spinning around uncontrollably unless you hide all of your gear.

Made a custom LMP2 livery in Photoshop for Le Mans Ultimate out of my go-to coffee choice.

The back-end distribution infrastructure they've built to make this all work in multiplayer is impressive.

New at #SIGGRAPH2025:

Can we make Perlin Noise stretch along some underlying vector field? Well it turns out it's possible with two simple additions to the original method! No need for advection or convolutions.

Find the paper and implementations here:

Congrats to Studio 397 on exiting early access as they hit their 1.0 release of Le Mans Ultimate.

Got a chance this weekend to really dig into it, and I'm absolutely loving it.

I partly blame Spotify for this.

They’ll never have the joy of a good friend randomly handing them a cassette/burned CD/MiniDisc of some awesome band they’ve never heard of right before they got into their car.

F1 Movie review: It's good.

Existing F1 fans: go in with an open mind and some suspended disbelief.

Normies: this is "Top Gun: Maverick" on wheels. You'll like it.

Everyone: bring AirPods Pro (for transparency mode). Just in case. Our IMAX showing was blisteringly loud. APP takes the edge off.

If you are (like me) sensitive to poor motion resolution on LCDs, it looks like it's worth waiting for the OLED version of the Switch 2.

I refuse to believe that we (human society) need *this* many different coin-cell battery sizes.

Why do I get the feeling that iOS 27's biggest feature will be to undo this "glass UI".

Reminds me a little of the skeuomorphism era.

'Star Wars: Squadrons' was arguably the most underrated game in the past decade.

As a parent, Nintendo's new "Virtual Game Card" DRM management is a lot worse than their old system.

And infinitely more complicated than Steam's latest "Family Sharing".

The probability that I buy a small truck load of Switch 2's went from 99% -> ~0% with this.

Replacing my rig's honeycomb-style fan airflow straighteners with Noctua's "Airflow Amplifier" design.

They released it in .STEP format (vs .stl), which made it easy to upsize from their original 120mm size to 140mm (for their NF-A14's that I use).

Turns out that these were phishing scam attempts all along.

Beware. Delete and Report Junk, even if you are job hunting. Not worth it.

Needing to "replace my 2nd Logitech Brio with something else because Win11 can't decide which one to use for facial recognition" goes straight to the "Mike's FWP" list.

I'm hopefully wrong, but:

Eliminating the US de minimis exemption for low-value imports likely destroys what was turning into a wonderful, accessible hobbyist electronics scene.

Probably will upend most DIY electronics repair efforts, as well.

Once needed a proprietary accessory that they make but don't sell separately.

Support guy went into the warehouse, rummaged around, found exactly what I was looking for and dropped it in the mail for me.

Didn't charge me anything. Not for cable. Not even for shipping.

Ubiquiti is a great company.

This news backs up what I've been saying for a while now:

The VR market is alive and well in 2025... just not in the mainstream genres and AAA projects that everyone (circa 2016) assumed it would thrive in.
