A French-Pearl kind of night. In my top-five favorite cocktails for sure. Recipe by Audrey Saunders—a true genius of spirits.

Gorgeous day in Central Park! My favorite things about these photos are the parent & child sitting on the rock in the first & the little girls looking in the water in the other pics. Can you find them?

These people are evil. I don’t think this can be said enough. Pure evil.

As someone who had a scaffolding plank come crashing through my window exactly where my children sit to play and eat, I am THRILLED to hear of these efforts to minimize scaffolding use in NYC! Installing scaffolding can be dangerous in & of itself!

This evil fascist wants to destroy the world and humanity. What a heartbreak the U.S. is right now. How will we ever repair the damage he is doing on the daily?

Whoa this Sam Altman article in the New Yorker is long! I’ve been reading forever & am only halfway. The article’s foreboding doom definitely has me very scared for the future of humanity. But it’s also a lot of innuendo. Main take away so far: Altman is a liar & possibly a psychopath.

Lone daffodil on the West Side Highway. It’s my absolute favorite kind of day. Full-on sun but cold and crisp!

MAJOR BREAKING: Judge Chris Taylor, the Democratic-backed candidate, has won election to the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

The result expands the court’s liberal majority to 5–2, extending its current ideological balance for years to come.

ICYMI I have new work out about dragon fruit, cinnamon toast, and eggs. I really hate eggs, and it was a pleasure to destroy them in a poem.

These pieces are part memoir, part microfiction, part prose poem. “Anti-ode to the Egg” is best viewed on a large screen (or horizontally on a phone) because a small screen adds unintended like breaks. Here’s the photo that inspired “The Cost of Dragons.”

Delighted to have 3 hybrid micros in the gorgeous last issue of @literaryruby.bsky.social. Thank you to April Bradley for the work that has gone into this food-inspired lit mag. I’m sorry to see the project end, but thrilled to be here beside so many I admire.

I don't read nearly enough flash fiction so I decided for the month of April that I'm going to keep going with #FlashInTheFeed and share a piece each day for accountability.

Today's piece is "Shelf Life" by Rowan Tate in @splitlipthemag.bsky.social: splitlipthemag.com/flash/0226/rowan-tate

Every time a plane I’m on lands, I feel a huge sense of accomplishment as if I myself flew the plane or something! 😂

My flying phobia is a lot to overcome.

Anyway, I’m back in NYC & happy to be here. ✈️

I’m writing two long, unhinged stories right now. I want them both to do things that probably aren’t possible, to disintegrate in midair. I’m trying to unlatch something in my brain, on the line. It’s a weird, amped up feeling like the endorphins that hit when you finish the first mile of a run. 🏃
