The #Philosophy feeds now seem to be back up and running. Apologies for the outage. I will be taking it up with the feed service provider. Meanwhile, if you’re still using the ‘Philosophy Discussion’ feed, you might want to switch to the newer #PhilosophySky. Now with added philosophy news! #PhilSky
to rainbow out (v.intr.) to show no interest in something that delights one's partner. "I showed her that clip of Alan Partridge at the owl sanctuary, but she just rainbowed out."
My father always advised me to take people as I find them, and I try to do that. Taking people as you imagine you'll find them causes no end of trouble.
Notes on using Philosophy Twitter. (1) You can pin the list to the top of your homepage for easy access. (2) The list will show all your posts by default, but I suggest we use #philtwit for posts directed specifically at list members. (3) Let's be friendly, even when we disagree!
I think I've caught up on additions to the Philosophy Twitter list. If I've missed anyone, please send me a reminder. Thank you for all your requests. It's been so nice to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. Let's use this space to make the world a bit nicer, kinder, and wiser!
Do say if you'd like to be added. You don't need to be a professional philosopher or to have actually been part of the old Twitter philosophy community. You just need to share a love of friendly, supportive philosophical discussion, without ego or competitiveness!
I've created a list for Bluesky users who were part of philosophy Twitter back in the day. Help me populate it! Also happy to add people who wish they had been part of the old community. I've added a few names already. (Ask if you'd like to be removed.) bsky.app/profile/did:plc:3s2chfwpiqw4yehshol4oy43/lists/3miyfqv2wnt2n
Listening to these thoughtful, professional people surveying the Moon from orbit is a reminder of what humans can achieve when they share a vision and have a collective determination to achieve it.
