Just slightly resentful that this is the third time in three months that we have had to batten the hatches, fill buckets with flushing water, battery-up the torches, pull out the camp stoves etc.

I have lived on the tail of the fish for most of my 48 years and I do not like the new normal.

Dad knew all my friends when I was 17, and clearly liked bestie better than me (how we joked).
