This is the way. Every time I've done a fundraiser for Gaza it's been to PCRF (and others I respect have chosen MSF or World Kitchen, also excellent choices).

This will get aid to Gazans, guaranteed. Don't gamble on some random Bluesky account, no matter who "verifies" them.

I got tagged by three washes today: blueslop follow-farmer, "funny political memes" content scraper, cute animal content scraper. Respectively, 50k followers, 25k followers, 101k followers. Those are *not* cheap.

So either the person behind this network created a lot of content scraper accounts to age in place ~2 years ago, or they've been spending a lot of money to buy those accounts from people who did. Either way, it is not authentic use.

I will say that pre-built Bluesky accounts that have been washed from being content scrapers are not *as* expensive as washed accounts on more high-traffic sites, but they are not free, and I have seen with my own eyeballs at least $500 worth of accounts at *minimum* this week.

Whoever is running these scams is flooding the zone with shit, choking out any genuine appeals people are making, and poisoning the well of potential donators to people who actually, desperately need it. Saying "don't worry about that! Keep giving!" is not an acceptable answer to those concerns.

Shah has positioned herself as a verifier of these accounts, and has offered blanket assurances throughout the genocide. At some point it's fair to ask if she's so thoroughly bamboozled by scammers that her judgment is completely compromised, or she's actively in on it.
