@kolyncheang.bsky.social and I spent months investigating the deaths of ICE detainees across the US. Over and over again, we found lapses in treatment that proved fatal.

I (and many other cis het white guys without a firsthand stake, likely) don't know what to say on Trans Day of Visibility that doesn't sound trite and patronizing.

But here goes -- I haven't and won't ignore that you all are being treated like subhumans, and that the fight is to simply exist.

Absolutely wild story that isn’t getting much attention (as far as I can tell) around the state: the largest city in the state is about to cut 30% of its service over only a $7.5 million shortfall

It would be madness to let this go over such a small number

I learned today about an instance of the feds tying transportation funding explicitly to the jurisdiction signing a contract to allow ICE activities. Is anyone tracking all the places that is happening, and what projects? Maybe @alexkarner.bsky.social ?
