This Hubble Space Telescope image captures the beauty of the moth-like planetary nebula NGC 2899. This object has a diagonal, bipolar, cylindrical outflow of gas. This is propelled by radiation and stellar winds from a nearly 22 000 deg...

The #Artemis II astronauts said they needed more superlatives to describe their view of the eclipse, when the Sun was behind the Moon and its near surface was faintly illuminated by Earthshine

NASA isn't why the US doesn't have universal healthcare, or a social safety net. The US doesn't have those things because politicians with the power to provide them choose specifically not to (with varying levels of support from voters). Enthusiasm for human spaceflight doesn't drive that choice.

NGC 3310: A Starburst Spiral Galaxy apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap260405.html
The party is still going on in spiral galaxy NGC 3310. Roughly 100 million years ago, NGC 3310 likely collided with a smaller galaxy causing the large spiral galaxy to light up with a tremendous burst of star formation

I'm aghast that we're (still!) arguing over insane shit that not arguable at all. Like "fascism is bad" and "reporters should strive to tell the plain truth as plainly as possible."

And the people we're arguing with are the ones whose work relies on knowing those things. Journalists, politicians.

Trump appears to be reaching for anything that might stick as he tries to escape a mounting legal battle.

He argued to the court that the case against him could “open floodgates for incitement decisions” and possibly constrain First Amendment protections.

Fun fact:
It's not possible to be a left and support any sort of 'leader for life'. Russian "communism", Chinese "communism", north Korean "communism", Cuban "communism", etc. They're all just neo-monarchism.
There is no such thing as Totalitarian Left ... that's just right wing w/a diff econ model.

Tangent but Artemis includes a lot of neat firsts:
1st Beyond Orbit, 1st Around Moon - 1st black person, 1st black man, 1st woman, 1st non-American, 1st Canadian.

This is what American Exceptionalism actually is.

Another one of those what-if-it-happened-in-another-country moments:

The president is suing the government for $100 million dollars for searching his home for the classified documents he stole, and the attorney who represented him on those charges is currently leading the Justice Department.
