Everything you said was spot-on, and it's all true for biomedical science as well. You've spoken for all scientists here, and you did it perfectly.

I had never thought about that before, and it's so totally unfair. I do cancer research. I am allowed - even expected - to hate cancer and love life. But you're not allowed to love the planet because your work is inconvenient to the parasite class? Fuck that. 2/

Spite is most of the reason I'm still alive. There's people I need to outlive, and want to see buried before I go. I'm not in a position to speed that up, so I stay around just waiting to see the obituaries. I'll die after I piss on their graves.
