I had never thought about that before, and it's so totally unfair. I do cancer research. I am allowed - even expected - to hate cancer and love life. But you're not allowed to love the planet because your work is inconvenient to the parasite class? Fuck that. 2/

Scientists MUST love what they study. If we didn't, we would never survive all the absolute bullshit we have to endure to get to study it in the first place. When, as a student, you find the topic you're "meant to" study, it's like falling in love. You want to know everything about it. 3/
