One thing I truly hate about the current Long Beach Transit boat system is that unlike the busses, there is no discount for seniors or the disabled. At $20 a round trip for a disabled person and their aide, it's simply not an option compared to bus fare being free with Access or around $4 without.

Last night there was a street takeover involving over 200 vehicles and fireworks. Cars racing up and down the road and alleyways at high speed in a residential community is nothing short of insane.

We need more racetracks and safe spaces for car enthusiasts. Over the years we've seen so many...

So to recap, the fuel protestors wasted their own fuel driving fuel guzzling rigs, buses and tractors to shut down emergency services, public transport and fuel depot's creating a shortage of fuel and endangering people's lives when Ireland doesn't technically have a fuel shortage.

Dunno if this is a smart or a stupid thing, but whenever I would deploy anywhere, I never read my favorite books or listened to my favorite music.

I never wanted things I loved to be associated with that time/place, and I hated the thought that I'd never be able to enjoy them again.

I made a new open-source app called Hipparchus.
It creates clean vector maps from OpenStreetMap data and exports them as layered SVG files. That means roads, buildings, water, parks, labels, railways, coastlines, and other elements stay separate and editable.

I was just informed by @lacofd.bsky.social that a small plane carrying two people crashed on the south side of Catalina Island opposite Avalon. Paramedics who were first to reach the site confirmed both individuals aboard the aircraft were deceased.

The FY 2027 NASA budget request hides its science cuts by omitting mission names instead of explicitly zeroing them out.

We did the work and found 54 missions cancelled in this proposal.

This is another extinction-level event for NASA science.
