Components are now composed of styleboxes, so they could be procedural panels like in this picture, but could also be textures. It's also now possible to have UI controls on them which won't interfere with dragging, wiring or selection. Controls may show or hide depending on the simulator mode.

I've been in hiatus for a long while because of mental health issues and having to run from family, but one small thing I did to progress with #Wicked_Haywire was to change how components work and are displayed. They don't crash all the time anymore.

And to clarify, no, just waiting is not the whole healing process. You can sit with bad emotions, but if you feed them, by ruminating or fantasizing about the past, this won't help. You have to inspire safety and trust in your subconscious. Act and think like things are okay despite its fears.

I don't know how people can believe in souls, as an entity or identity that can keep operating despite a material body, when part of the process to heal from many mental illnesses is just a waiting game. This shows how the mind relies on chemical processes in the brain which are inherently slow.

I've been beaten up at home, police was called and I was recommended to stay away at least until bureaucracy issues have been handled. I have my phone and laptop, but I haven't had the opportunity to settle or sleep properly, so further work on projects is uncertain for now.

Godot's GitHub has increasingly many pull requests generated by LLMs and it's a MASSIVE time waster for reviewers – especially if people don't disclose it. Changes often make no sense, descriptions are extremely verbose, users don't understand their own changes… It's a total shitshow. #godotengine

Now working on an idea of using a quadtree to represent the wires. So wire segments are the sides of square that can have varying size. This makes it fast to find a segment being clicked on and branch wires, but then rebuilding the tree when moving wires/bends is nightmare.

The #Wicked_Haywire circuit simulator is so complicated, I wasn't expecting that. I had one good idea on how to make a simulation system, then got stuck on how to represent connections in a graph, then add an idea on how edit/draw wires that was bad, etc...

#Godot #indiedev #gamedev I have some more electricity, so I've been adding more UI to #Wicked_Haywire. A lot of other Digital logic specific functions have also been added. Creating components accounting for different orientations is a pain. Some layouts require a custom scene.

Like Rage Against the Machine would say, I've taken the power back. So I was able to update the improved InfiCanvas to Github. There are a ton of fixes, it's more streamlined, better documentation and more override functions. #godot #indiedev

Not the simulation or connection of components. That part was easy. Just the part where you draw lines on the screen between the sockets.

#Wicked_Haywire can successfully perform additions.
All the logic gates have original names which I think are more descriptive of their behavior.
AND gate -> ALL check: Are all inputs High?
OR gate -> ANY check: Is any input High?
ODD gate -> ODD check: Is the amount of inputs High odd?
