Man, we have the same conversations every time a major story like this breaks. It’s exhausting. It is SO HARD to publish a story about gendered violence for a whole host of reasons, a main one being that victims (rightly so!) don’t want to talk.

This is true, Jim Bowie was a criminal and fraudster of the highest order and his arrogance defying Houston's order to evacuate killed ~185 mother's sons at the Alamo. If Taylor Sheridan portrays him as some kind of rakish hero, it tells us FAR more about the director than it ever could about Bowie.

So if the cops or prosecutors violate someone's rights, I want them to pay for it. I want them to pay for it even if it benefits somebody who is guilty as hell, because enforcing those rights protects everyone from the tyranny of the state.
