on a scale of 1 to 100, my support for democracy and protecting everyone's right to vote is 99. but i admit it used to be 100 before reading some of your tweets

Yeah. I mean yes, “everyone’s voice should be heard”, blah blah blah, but Jesus Christ

Information is nothing without the foundation of proper basic education.

We are witnessing the confluence of high level information access coupled with low level education.

Don’t say we didn’t warn you (former teacher).

We should all take an oath to the Constitution and if we break it - no more voting and no more public office. I'll be the first in line to raise my right hand.

Im confident we can get that number down to at least 80 after a quick skim of the comments section under New York Times stories on Facebook.

People's responses to covid made me sympathise with the Churchill-attributed quote, "The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter." I mean, I get it.

I know we should support universal sufferage - but I think using GROK/Claude or any other AI should automatically make people ineligible to vote.

After all, it's not that democracy is good, it's that other methods are even worse. There's no system where good, smart people just run things.

We should figure out how to test for selfishness in candidates and make them pass a reasonable empathy level test as a condition for public service.

Then the people can vote for whoever gives more entertaining speeches.

Either candidate would serve the people and the planet instead of themselves.

I always say: People who believe in demons shouldn’t be allowed to vote.

Um, wait a minute! Demons are just the deities of whatever religion was present before the current dominant one moved in and demonized elder gods that they couldn’t rewrite to fit the new theology.

unfortunately I can't find it now, but there was a tweet that went around replying to the last pontiff that began "With all do respect pope..."

He was just reiterating instructions for being Catholic. You’re supposed to do a “respect pope”, and give it everything you’ve got

No real democracy without universal quality education.

Otherwise, it boils down to replacing repression with propaganda. And external enemies when that fails.

Honestly, some of the replies have me doubting the validity of natural selection.
