What are some 1-2 block segments of streets that should be pedestrianized in Chicago?

Some clear answers I already have for the North side are
LP - Broadway: Diversey to Oakdale
Wrigleyville - Clark: Addison to Newport
Lincoln Sq - Lincoln
Andersonville - Clark from Berwyn to Foster
Uptown - Argyle from Winthrop to Sheridan
Let me know if you disagree

I thought Lincoln Ave was pedestrian only on that cobblestoned archway area. When driving NB, aren't you routed onto Western somewhere near Wilson? That could be expanded, and if the City isn't contractually forbidden from providing parking (Thanks Ritchie) replace the surface lots w a garage

Clark from Berwyn to Foster is pretty much pedestrianized already. I made the mistake of driving it a couple of weeks ago and I'd rather leave it for the shoppers and strollers.

Honestly, most of north Clark

But Wrigleyville and anything south of lawrence is challenging because it’s also serving as a major bus corridor at that point that isn’t duplicated by L or Ashland bus (just took it to get to the hospital for example)

Looking for good contenders on the west, southwest, and south sides. My goal is to envision one commercial/pedestrian plaza for each neighborhood

West: 5th Ave from Madison to Sacramento

Southwest: finish the job (Blue Island from 18th-21st)

South: 115th between Michigan and King Dr (connect Kensington MED to 115th RLE)

Blue Island between Laflin and 21st in Pilsen
Maybe 53rd from Lake Park to Blackstome in Hyde Park?
A pedestrianized Taylor between Western and Oakley in Tri-Taylor would be really charming, you could also extend it to Ogden

all of milwaukee ave! open streets project was great on milwaukee bw division and north.

damen bw evergreen and north - the el, a park, farmers market, a CPS school, a preschool, so many businesses and restaurants, cars move at a snail's pace day and night anyway

Yes love to see when they trial these sorts of things and they succeed. I hope to inspire a future where we trial them every summer then they become full time ped only (minus deliveries)

Fantastic ideas below. We need something in Streeterville too, where we are overrun with wide streets and traffic and our sidewalks are often narrow. It would probably have to be pretty far south close to river to avoid hospitals.
