If you enjoy choices-matter stories about vampires and revolutionaries and questions of what it means to be a good person and who deserves mercy when there's only so much to go around, and you haven't played Cabernet, you are missing out!

Today's the day! Sol Cesto is slated to leave early access on Steam!

I know I'm so off and on with my youtube channel and I need to be better, but this might call for a streaming sesh!

I need to master articulating it, because I need more people to hear it, but you can defeat ai art if you teach more people how to read. This is not a bit.

I ended up playing "Eternal Afternoon" last night and it was the perfect medium to address my existentialism. After running around for 15 minutes collecting all the NPC dialog I could, I decided to go home and sit with my mom for the final 5 minutes and just watch the end wash over us. 10/10.

Gonna go home and escape from The Horrors ™️ with some relaxing and unemotional video games like Spiritfarer and Fishbowl. Just a little something that won't shake me to my core, like Mundaun or Draugen. A calming vibe, like To the Moon or Rakuen. Anything is better than *gestures broadly*, right?

I subscribe to the NYT breaking news alerts because I want to stay abreast the breaking news. Respectfully, I do not consider the outcome of a basketball game worth an email blast. And yet here we are, with Artemis II news and the Iranian war sandwiched between UConn doing sports good. 🙄

And then, when I worked at a music library and digitized our decaying CD collection, in which I have to listen to the entire CD to find defects, I was subjected to 45 minutes of crumhorn quartets. This painful time lives in infamy in my personal lore. So now someone else gets to hear it!

Contextual lore: I have a PhD in music theory but my job is not in that field so meeting new people can result in these convos where they think they're doing a little flex and I'm just genuinely pumped to talk about art music and I know way too much.

A guy last night was flexing his classical music knowledge at me, which was a fun game I hadn't gotten to play in a while. It ended with me convincing him he'll enjoy crumhorn quartets, and he's going to listen to the CD I recommended. I'm chalking this up as a late April fools joke, heehoo 🤣

Star Trek: The Next Generation, possibly the best television show ever, is not about spaceships shooting lasers at each other, it is about a man who represents the best of us trying to teach his robot son to be human while debating whether humans even deserve to exist with his best frenemy, God.

On Thursday I heard a British podcaster coin the term "in the fizz" and joke that it would probably catch on (episode was very recent), and today I heard a different British podcaster say "in the fizz" and not even acknowledge it. Did I just witness the birth of an idiom?? Am I...in the fizz??

At PAX. Never thought I'd have to say this but: men, if there are 9 open seats in a row, do not sit so close to a single woman that you actually sit on her a little bit.

This has not been a one-off experience.

me in 2000: how could "ancient machines" in this story be better than modern machines?? they'd have better technology, knowledge and resources in the modern era due to globalization!!

me in 2026: oh.

The Steam spring sale began and I immediately spent my allotted budget on games from my wishlist so that I can resist the siren song and my wallet won't hate me 🤣

The 15-day weather forecast can't find a single day getting up into the 50s. Still freezing every single night. I hate early spring when it's still the last dying gasp of winter 😭

The FGR at PAX East is such an awesome space. Even if you are an adult attending without a child in tow, it's worth dropping in and seeing the incredible setup and meet the amazing gaming folk involved. Andy is such a gem, and last year I met my childhood heroes: the devs of Zoombinis!

What if there were a better way to discover new games?
🌎Explore a universe of games.
🎯Bigger cards = most similar.
📚Card behaviour = genre.
🍿Click = trailers and screenshots.
💰Flip = game details and price.

Ludocene subscribers are testing the prototype this month: www.ludocene.com/subscription

This game is such a beautiful love letter to the adventures we all wished we could go on as kids, climbing over hills, inspecting caves, and frolicking through fields and dales.

Someone said it here first but it's worth repeating: the best part of knitting/crocheting a blanket is that sometimes you are under a nice, cozy blanket as you work. Few other projects have that side benefit!

A poem from a New Englander:

As I look at my yard, covered in snow up to my waist, and then cast my gaze to one of the two 8ft mountains of snow next to my driveway from when I shoveled it for 9 hours over 3 days, I remember how last March the state ran out of salt for the roads, and I fear.

I respect and appreciate that the USPS always delivers the mail, no matter the weather. Such an important lifeline in a blizzard.

But bro, it's just a credit card offer I'm gonna throw away and a pamphlet of coupons for a store I don't really go to. Go ahead and skip my house, bestie.

Steam Next Fest is up and I'm resurrecting my youtube after a winter hiatus! My refocused m.o. is assessing how well demos demonstrate what the full game promises - less so on how much I personally like the game. If you're an #indiedev with a game demo, I'll gladly make a video of assessment!

Genuine question: I am told that people are complaining that the Superbowl Halftime show didn't have subtitles. But......it did?? I saw them in the background on the jumbotrons? So...why the attitude? Look up, bro??
