LLM as an essential tool is a hard sell, but LLM as a tool I'll happily use for the price of free is an easy sell.
To me, this means we will absolutely be getting ads in all ai tools, and then it'll be back to a race between the providers and ad blocking, which will lead to less usage.

When kubernetes clusters are built using kubeadm, there is a 5 year ticking time bomb on the self signed CA for the cluster. The more well known 1 year on the api certificates is easily repairable if missed. The 5 year CA is hard to rotate preemptively and disgustingly hard to rotate if you forget.

what I think we need is to avoid generic turing style compute as the core of edge devices.
I think we go to custom chips that fundamentally provide the service in question and are truly hard to modify to do anything else.

Big retailers have huge networks and have local micro compute, but they have scope of control and massive workforce. If I have a device that needs restarted, an employee can do that. There's a natural incentive not to mess with the device tied to surveillance and keeping your job. 3/
