You’re not the only one who feels like you’re losing your mind. Everyone I talk to has said this to me. This world is taking a toll on all of us, even those who are trying not to pay attention. Let this connect you to other people in solidarity rather than isolate you.

I think often about how the tech that delivers our information has evolved exponentially faster than human brains have evolved to receive and filter said tech.

I was just watching another video by Hbomberguy—who has that long video on plagiarists on YouTube—about Flat Earthers. He says to them:

You feel like the whole world is fucked up right now AND IT IS! You’re RIGHT about that! Our governments lie all the time! Just NOT about the world being flat. 🌍🌏🌎

"Doing chaos magick" is a much more fun way of saying I have pretty bad ADHD.

I was once interviewing internal candidates for my team and one lady said they wanted to be on my team because I seemed so relaxed and would be a chill boss.

I said "Really? I'm literally losing my mind right now."

Which isn't in any of the literature on conducting an effective job interview.

I'm trying so hard to not give in to the depression my body wants to slump into. I wish I knew how to embrace connection more, but it's hard to get to know people outside my household when things are like this and I barely leave my house. ;_;

I'm struggling with this idea that people keep repeating, that every generation felt like the world around them was ending, and it feels like it can't possibly be as true as it is now???

I really hope the Cold War or WWII felt as hopeless as this, but how could they have been? Especially without the internet to shove the worst of it in our faces 24/7

Yeah I don’t think any previous generation had as much reason to believe it as we do, even during the Cold War the end of the world would’ve been a fuckup rather than the natural progression of history. So I think we’re justified in freaking out just a bit! But I find lots of inspiration in history.

❤️Self Care Reminder ❤️ Direct action is easier when you're hydrated + well slept + nourished, and laughed a little at fat gray squirrel pics because why not?

Once you've rested that fabulous set of bones of yours, head on over to ceasefiretoday.com to take direct action because focusing on what we can do is helping me not absolutely flail with incomprehensible rage.

Remember also one critical fact! Your embrace of even small happinesses in life directly goes against what these war mongers are trying to do.

It's not your fault if smiling is hard but I give you permission to enjoy life a little to piss off those who would justify genocide.

I think we’re all probably experiencing at least some low grade dissociation. Covid, a summer of disasters showing climate change is here, the genocide in Gaza, one thing after another gives us the sense of unreality and each is too huge to fit inside any one mind. Fear, powerlessness, despair.

I’m starting @losingourmindspod.bsky.social in part to look at this further and try to find sources of resiliency and avenues for action. It’s for my own sake as much as anyone else’s. I don’t see many people talking about this at all, let alone in an in-depth way, so I’m going to try.

Haven't fully lost my mind, but definitely reached the "I'm tired of being tired" stage of world weary.

🙏🏻 not to #earnestpost, but I feel like the only way to cope is spiritual in nature. Tapping in with the fact that, at bottom, none of this—this, meaning existence—makes sense helps me be in joy alongside mystery, ambiguity, and tragedy. Not that this makes it easy 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'd argue it's not low grade dissociation. We've been practicing how to go about our normal lives in the midst of chaos and despair for decades. The intensity was turned up in the last few years – I think our defensive strategies had to get stronger as well.
