I'm struggling with this idea that people keep repeating, that every generation felt like the world around them was ending, and it feels like it can't possibly be as true as it is now???

Yeah I don’t think any previous generation had as much reason to believe it as we do, even during the Cold War the end of the world would’ve been a fuckup rather than the natural progression of history. So I think we’re justified in freaking out just a bit! But I find lots of inspiration in history.

I really hope the Cold War or WWII felt as hopeless as this, but how could they have been? Especially without the internet to shove the worst of it in our faces 24/7
