We just had record rain in Portland and it resulted in some water in the basement. 😢

Luckily I have water sensors, so I was alerted right away. It just means I need to reinforce the water proofing system for this one specific spot (which was around my water main.)

And try to dry the moisture...

buy damprid. you can get a version that comes in a special container and it has holes in the top. you open it and set it down somewhere near where the water it and it sucks it out of the air. you can replace the stuff inside once its used up but I would just buy a fresh one.

Yesterday I watched your Toshiba CRT video, where you mentioned the unseasonal weather and specifically the sunshine.

Jinxed! ☹️

I know of a great tech channel where you can learn all about dehumidifiers (and dishwashers too!)

Yikes. I'm just north of you in Longview. We've got an external closet/cold cellar and that room floods like crazy. We need to drill a hole for a small sump pump.. something I don't really want to do myself. So far nothing is leaking in our finished basement. Carpet and padding down there

Damn, glad it was only *some* water! Here’s hoping this ends up a positive thing and the trouble area can be addressed before anything more major occurs someday.

At least that’s how I treat leaks nowadays… stress testing 😬
