That sucks but SS and disability are two different things and it doesn’t mean that SS or disability either are bad programs.
Also, what state was she in? Many blue states have programs that you can gain access to very easily.
What was the reason for her not being able to receive benefits…???

Social Security and Social Security for Disability are the same thing. I know. I have been getting it for a long time. It's how you get Medicare on Disability. I had to go thru more steps than someone who turns 65 to get it. I had a hearing with a judge to be granted SS and Medicare.😟

There was no reason. They just delayed responding to her. She was in Utah.

The point of my comment was to acknowledge there are lots of people this happens to, and some retirees are also delayed their benefits. It’s a stall tactic to delay payouts.

Well it’s not time to throw out the baby with the bath water. Stuff like that has to be fixed of course, and I’m very sorry that happened to her. But that doesn’t mean that the program is fundamentally flawed, in case I wasn’t clear

You are right. They claim it is because of their backlog. Can you imagine how it will be now with a huge reduction in staff?❤️💯
