The first time I went surfing I learned the obvious fact that the ocean was bigger and more powerful than me, and while I might be able to navigate my little board to some extent, the ocean was in control.

And yeah it turns out grief's kinda like that.

It really, really does. It will not be a linear path. My rational, scientist, pragmatic brain keeps trying to sort it out, and then my body and lizard brain say "this is something you can't solve like a puzzle."
