When you're a creative, seeing your friends use GenAI is extra insulting. That thing is trained off our work and is destroying our lifelihoods left and right. It's not shallow to stop being friends when someone who doesn't respect your path in life.

I've literally done this exact thing. One of my long time friends wanted to show me his new project. It was a bunch of AI art on T-shirts. I'd told him a number of times GenAI is gross and is actively hurting my artist partner. He insisted it was good. I don't talk to him anymore.
